Midrand Montessori Primary School
At Midrand Montessori Primary School, learning is hands-on, purposeful, and deeply engaging.
Our primary classrooms are dynamic spaces where children explore big ideas through real materials, meaningful projects, and guided discovery.
Rooted in Montessori philosophy and enriched with the best of modern education, our program builds strong foundations in critical thinking, literacy, numeracy, and scientific inquiry. Children move beyond memorising, they learn to understand, create, question, and collaborate.
In both Junior and Senior Primary, our dedicated team nurtures independence, resilience, and a genuine love of learning.
Every child grows at their own pace, supported in becoming confident, capable thinkers who thrive in an ever-changing world.
Submit an enquiry and we will send you our prospectus and invite you to book a campus tour so you can see our environment for yourself.

Primary School

At Midrand Montessori, our Primary Centre is dedicated to freeing your child's potential and transforming them into an active participant in the world.
Montessori Primary School Curriculum
We follow the approved SAMA-adopted AMI Montessori curriculum enriched with music, creative arts, physical education, and language classes in Afrikaans and Zulu.
Guided by Montessori Philosophy
Guided by the inspiring words of Dr. Maria Montessori, "Free the child’s potential and you will transform them into the world," our Primary Centre is thoughtfully structured into two progressive environments: Junior Primary (ages 6 to 9) and Senior Primary (ages 9 to 12), covering Grades 1 through 6.
21st-Century Skills and Technology Integration
In our Senior Primary environment, we place a strong emphasis on the four essential 21st-century skills: creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. As a Microsoft School, we are also integrating cutting-edge technology into teaching and learning, ensuring a modern and dynamic educational experience.

Junior Primary
In our Junior Primary, we implement the Cosmic Education curriculum tailored for the second plane of development.
This integrated approach covers interrelated disciplines:
Language; Mathematics, Geometry, History; Geography; Science, Biology, Creative Arts, Physical Education; and additional languages beyond English.
Rooted in the timeless ideas of Dr. Montessori, our curriculum uses manipulative materials to reveal the underlying structure of each domain, allowing children to explore detailed topics while maintaining an understanding of the whole. This holistic and principled design not only ignites a passion for learning but also adapts to new discoveries, technological innovations, and evolving educational standards.
Senior Primary
The Montessori Senior Primary environment supports children from 9 to 12 years old as they move toward greater independence and responsibility. Lessons become richer and more detailed, and students begin to think more deeply and work with increasing confidence.
The curriculum includes language, mathematics, geometry, history, geography, science, and cultural studies, along with creative arts, recorder, Afrikaans, Zulu, and regular physical education. Children are encouraged to explore topics through research and collaborative projects.
Senior Primary students learn to organise their work, manage longer tasks, and communicate their ideas clearly. Technology is introduced gradually, helping them use digital tools responsibly and with purpose.
By the end of this phase, students are well prepared for the expectations of high school and carry forward a positive sense of self, curiosity, and a love of learning.
